New Year, New Me

It's that time of year again. A brand new year, a fresh start. Like so many others, I have goals and dreams, big enough to scare me and make me want to curl up in bed wrapped up like a burrito. But that means only one thing. I have some amazing things to work towards this year.

I spent a good few hours reflecting the other day to come up with a plan for myself to realize some goals. You might be thinking, only a few hours? Well, of course. I am one of those people with a running internal monologue. I am constantly analyzing myself and finding things I want to do to improve my overall well-being.

So this is where it all begins. Day one. And in conjunction with one of my goals, I am aiming to keep a public accountability platform. So here is my blog, my message to myself and to the world that I can make changes and become the person I have always wanted to be.

Let's dive in. What are my goals for 2026?

2026 BETTER ME GOALS:

  • Make more time for date nights (ideally at least 2 outings per month)
  • Read 1 new book every month
  • Lose weight (at least 25 pounds but my big goal is 50 pounds)
  • Be more physically fit (exercise regularly)
  • Journal regularly (this blog, random thoughts, etc)
  • Start playing flute again
  • Graduate college (hopefully by the end of March)
  • Learn to crochet
  • Invest more time in my children (regular time cooking and doing activities together)
  • Invest in increasing passive income
  • Finalize a choice in a major life decision (details to come later in the year)
As you can see, my goals for this year focus on me and my overall well-being (mind and body). But they also give me an important focus on my partner and my family. Improving myself will boil over into all of my relationships.

This is a brief overview of my goals. My goal list is detailed per month on what specifically I want to work on, all of which will come out into public view with future posting. This organization is a crucial key to me having control and perspective on myself and my goals.

I cannot wait to see how far I make it this year. I cannot wait to feel better and be better. What do you have planned for 2026?
