Sunday Check In - Week 2
We did it. A true full week in 2026. Some really good progress in some areas and some not so good progress in others. So how did I measure up this week? Let's see...
Make more time for date nights
No progress this week. But that's ok. I only wanted 2 per month and we're planning to go out next weekend.
Read 1 new book every month
I am about 1/3 of the way through Watership Down. I took a little break from reading the past few days but I'm getting back on it today, homework pending.
Journal regularly
I'd say I'm doing ok with this one. I have skipped a couple days this week but my mind has been a little blank and not had much it wanted to spew out. I don't consider this a bad thing. For me, this is good. It means some of my overzealous thoughts and feelings have calmed down for now and I'm happy with that.
Start playing flute again
I did play one day this week. I had every intention of doing two more days but the exhaustion this week got the better of me. We will try again next week.
Graduate college
This class is still kicking my butt. I'm just hoping to get a passing grade. Wish me luck.
Learn to crochet
I still haven't taken the time to find my hooks. I know where yarn is, I'm like 90% sure of where it is. But I'll get to it before the next couple of weeks end.
Invest more time in children
We played board games 4 out of 7 nights this week. We also had one night where little A helped me make dinner. I knew it would be a dinner she wouldn't like as much so I thought having her help make it would make her do better at eating it. I was wrong. But oh well. I tried.
Increase investment income
No change here. Payday is next week though, so maybe we can make a minor improvement here after that.
Be more physically fit
I fell down big time this week. I hit an exhaustion wall with the schedule change of going back to work and dropped the ball on my workouts. I have changed what I'm doing for the next couple of weeks and I hope that helps.
Lose weight
I am extremely happy with how this went. I was nervous towards the middle of the week when it looked my progress was going in the wrong direction. But I ended the week incredibly strong. If I can get back on track with the workouts, I expect to continue to see good progress. I do expect the amount of loss to decrease but I'm enjoying the good numbers for now.
Pounds Lost: 4.4
Inches Lost: 3.5
I'm not feeling bad about my downfalls this week. I knew this wee would be a reality check for my ability to keep up with my lofty goals while adding work back into the mix. The first week back at work is always difficult, one of the cons to working for a school. But the main chaos is over for work, so my schedule will normalize and make it easier for me to get my schedule on track and easier to manage.
